Bouygues Travaux Publics Régions France teams in the Paris region are completing construction work on the footbridge that will link the Stade de France to the future aquatic centre in Saint-Denis. This pedestrian bridge, which was installed between 8 and 11 August 2022 over the A1 in a large-scale operation, is 100 m long and 20 m wide, and weighs 1,300 tonnes. It will initially be used for the Paris Games, before opening to the public on May 2025.
Perform TP: principles, tools, but above all a team and a state of mind!
On this worksite, the teams implemented the principles and tools proposed in Perform TP, the company's lean management approach. After several months of practice and a worksite that is nearing completion, Thibaud, Carole and Mourad, respectively Senior Works Engineer, Works Engineer and Senior Site Manager, share their experience.
Convinced of the human and operational benefits they have gained, they are ambassadors for this approach, which they present above all as a state of mind serving collective efficiency.
Inspired by Toyota's Toyota Production System, Lean Management is above all a culture of continuous improvement for the benefit of customers, employees and the company.
More than a simple toolbox, it is first and foremost about identifying waste and eliminating it by relying on the skills of the teams on the ground, the richness of the collective and the support of the managers.
Lean Management is one of the ways of doing things better, faster and cheaper, without asking for more effort and by giving even more meaning to the added value of each person in improving collective performance.
As is already the case in industry, tomorrow there will probably no longer be a construction company without lean management, and Bouygues TP, a forerunner in this field, wants and needs to remain so.
