Bouygues Construction's participation is a reflection of our goal to meet our climate targets. A wall of innovation lies between us and decarbonising construction by 2030. We only have a few years left to find solutions. Bouygues Construction's startup division, Construction Venture has discovered that startups are the key because they achieve results more quickly than other players.

It’s time to act. Collaborating with startups will expand our R&D efforts, develop our climate strategy and lead to action.

Four of the group's countries - the UK, Switzerland, Australia and France - will participate in this programme through their subsidiaries (Bouygues Construction UK, Losinger-Marazzi, AW Edwards, Bouygues Construction Australia and Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France Habitat Social). The objective is to find at least one promising startup in each country and work with them to assess their impact on carbon reduction. We hope to become pioneers, working together to create new measurable effects on our projects.

Working with the other accelerator partners (Holcim, Mott MacDonald and Sika) and our subsidiaries, we have defined a challenge for each country where Bouygues Construction is involved:

     >
France: Bio-Based Concrete Solutions
     >
UK: Circular Economy
     >
Switzerland: Smart Building Design
     >
Australia: Recycled Building Material

There are many benefits for startups:

BUSINESS
Develop business working with national teams to develop technology or a business model to solve operational problems
* Find opportunities to become a supplier, partner or obtain a licensing agreement
No equity investment

TECHNICAL
Access to our international partners’ technical infrastructures, such as R&D facilities
Coaching by expert partners to design prototypes and demonstrators, test and develop products, and get feedback

IMPLEMENTATION
* Access high-level mentorship from senior executives in international companies all along the value chain in the construction industry
* Showcase demonstrators to decision makers and investors.

Application period

Applications are open until 27 March. Please share the link to the application form with startups you know that match the accelerator’s objectives

We all need the construction industry to be greener. The Holcim Accelerator is a unique incubator for startups and innovators from around the world, with support from worldwide partners. Following their innovations this year will be fascinating.

Bertrand Piccard Founder of the Solar Impulse Foundation and sponsor of the Holcim Startup Accelerator

The aim of this partnership is to find the brightest and most innovative startups and solutions to identify the most effective ways to reduce our carbon footprint while assessing positive externalities they provide for issues such as productivity, biodiversity and health. I am confident we will find quality results during the six months acceleration programme. We will uncover new solutions to offer our clients when responding to bids. Investing in promising startups will also be a option.

Julien Bourcerie Head of Open Innovation Bouygues Construction

This partnership keeps us on track to achieve our decarbonisation goals and contribute to the energy transition of cities and businesses.

Please share the accelerator website link widely to encourage as many startup applications as possible! Go to
