The opening was a formal occasion, involving a mass followed by a consecration, and featuring the soothing chants of the Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre Benedictine nuns.

This consecration was attended by Monsignor Luc Crepy (Bishop of Versailles), Monsignor Philippe Gueneley (Bishop Emeritus of Langres) and Joëlle Rollin (Mayor of Blaru).

Thanks to the restructuring project overseen by Habitat Social’s production teams, the following works were carried out:

  • the main building was extended by building an underground area intended for creating 37 monastery-accommodation rooms, refectories, equipment rooms and meeting rooms
  • an 8-building bedroom was created
  • 37 rooms occupied by the sisters were restored
  • the chapel was restored.

The community lived in the priory for the entire duration of the works and, as a result, the teams constantly sought to ensure that they were safe and comfortable.
