On 13 October, Aby crossed the finish line on line 15 South of the Grand Paris Express project. After 28 months of digging, the tunnel boring machine completed its 4.3 kilometre journey with its breakthrough at Villejuif Louis-Aragon station. Since her launch from the Friche Arrighi site, Aby has crossed Les Ardoines station, the Bel Air service structure and Vitry Centre station, notching up four breakthroughs!
Next step for the TBM? Dismantling it, then taking it back to Germany!

The TBM’s name
The TBM was named Aby in honour of her “godmother” Aby Gaye, international basketball player born in Vitry-sur-Seine!
