On 9 November, Laurence, the tunnel boring machine operated by the Horizon consortium led by Bouygues Travaux Publics, reached its final destination on line 15 South of the Grand Paris Express! The TBM left the Île-de-Monsieur shaft in Sèvres in January 2020 and travelled 4.2 kilometres to the Fort d'Issy-Vanves-Clamart station, crossing two stations and three ancillary structures. The journey involved an additional technical challenge, with Laurence passing under the Seine river no fewer than three times!
What’s next for the TBM? Dismantling it, then taking it back to Germany!
Congratulations to our teams for reaching this major milestone!
