This event, entitled the ‘C1 Align Family Day’, is the first event of this kind that Align has held and was very popular with over 800 people visiting on the day.
Those who attended were give a welcome pack on arrival that included ‘goodies’ for the children and a map of the site. Dedicated PPE free walking routes were established for visitors, as a well as a minibus tour, as the site is very large covering the equivalent of 80 football pitches.
The visitor centre and viewing platforms were open, where guests could gain an understanding of what activity was going on site to support the construction of the 16km Chiltern Tunnel and the 3.4km Colne Valley Viaduct. They also could experience getting on board a cement mixer and driving a crane simulator.
A great time was had by everyone.
