Bouygues Travaux Publics Régions France teams completed construction work on the bridge’s eight piers at the end of 2022, enabling Baudin Châteauneuf, holder of the structural steel contract, to make the first connection between the two banks of the Garonne in January, ten months after the first launching operation.

Currently, structural launching is continuing and our teams are preparing for the arrival and installation of the mobile crews in the spring to cast the deck. Meticulous preparation will be necessary to meet the deadlines, given the exceptional dimensions of the deck, which is some 549 metres long and 44 metres wide!

Ultimately, it will have six lanes dedicated to cars and public transport, as well as a space dedicated to bicycles, with a two-way cycle path, and pedestrians. This space will also be able to host festive events and shows.

A look back in images at the work we have done in preparation for this major milestone.

The construction of the 8 piers of the bridge in a few figures:
- 65 skilled workers, including subcontractors
- 42,000 hours of labour
- 6,600 m3 of concrete
