The segments are erected in pairs, either side of a single pier, and the aim was always to safely improve the erection process so that up to 3 pairs of segments could be installed in a single day. In March, the team achieved this important milestone, which is testament to the great teamwork and ambition to drive for continuous improvements at Align JV.
Well done to everyone involved in the Viaduct team! What has been achieved would not have been possible without the support of colleagues in Align’s Quality, Lifting, Safety, Consents, Environment, Surveying teams and also the Earthworks team, for maintaining the haul road on which the 140-tonne segments are transported.
