We use our skills as a designer-builder to support major industrial companies and players in the field of renewable energies, in particular for the construction of new infrastructures dedicated to offshore wind farms or future energy islands. We draw on more than 20 years of recognised experience in large maritime infrastructure projects and major engineering structures (NRL, Monaco offshore extension, Tangiers, HS2, etc.), as well as complex major industrial projects such as EPRs (FA3, HPC) or the Chernobyl confinement arch. It is thanks to this know-how and expertise that we are able to propose an integrated EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) offer for both gravity foundation projects for land-based wind power (Fécamp) and floating wind farm projects, which are currently seen as the future of offshore wind power development.
In addition, we are now building the 71 concrete gravity bases for the future Fécamp offshore wind farm, which will produce 500 MW. That’s more than the number of gravity foundations installed in Europe since 2010. This exceptional project perfectly illustrates our know-how as a designer-builder and our capacity to industrialise.
The major challenge facing the offshore wind energy sector, and one in which Bouygues Travaux Publics has a real role to play, is the industrial scale-up of these infrastructures to the commercial farm scale, with a large number of units and a reduced LCOE (levelised cost of energy). Our challenge is therefore to demonstrate our ability to industrialise the manufacture of these extraordinary floaters weighing more than 15,000 metric tons, as well as the competitiveness of our offer in terms of costs and delivery times, while respecting our commitments and our clients' expectations in terms of safety, quality and respect for the environment.
