The completion of final jetty, Jetty A, means that the jetty construction required over the lakes in the Colne Valley from which the viaduct will be built is now complete and that an important milestone has been achieved.

There is now a continuous haul road from the M25 (London orbital motorway) slip road exit all the way across the Align’s South Portal, across the Colne Valley to the Grand Union Canal. And also now that Jetty A is complete, from the Grand Union Canal to HOAC (Hillingdon Outdoor Activity Centres).

After two years of development and a year of construction, all four jetties have now been completed. This means the number of construction vehicles on local roads will be significantly reduced, having a positive impact for the local community.

Well done to all those involved in achieving this important project milestone!

Did you know that?
Align (JV), composed of Bouygues Travaux Publics, Sir Robert McAlpine and VolkerFitzpatrick, is in charge of the construction of the C1 (Central 1) section of the future high-speed railway line, from London to Birmingham (HS2 Phase 1).
As part of the construction of the viaduct, 4 steel jetties have been built over the lakes in the Colne Valley, facilitating the transport of materials and the construction of the viaduct, keeping construction vehicles off local roads.
