Dragages Hong Kong signed a new contract in June for the construction of a five-storey fire station and ambulance depot, above which will be 12 residential floors providing 132 residential units. An eight-storey drill tower will be built behind the fire station. The project, located in Tseung Kwan O, one of Hong Kong's nine "new towns", is being developed by the government's Architectural Services Department, who is responsible for the design and construction of many public facilities throughout the territory.

The particularity of this project? 83% of the superstructure will be built in modular form using the Modular Intergrated Construction (MIC) method. The benefits of the the Modular Integrated Construction will lead to a better quality of execution (less defects and fewer reworks). Thanks to this method, the construction of the 12 residential floors will be carried out in a 6-day cycle per floor. Dragages Hong Kong will use modular methods to meet the tight construction schedule and to ensure increased safety on site.

Works will start in the third quarter of 2022, with delivery scheduled for August 2024. This project will diversify the order book of Bouygues Bâtiment International's Hong Kong subsidiary and will continue to innovate by using new construction methods.
