The VSL Academy opened its doors in Thailand, 40km north of Bangkok. Its first course - focusing on post-tensioning, was delivered on 11 February.

5 objectives guide the development of the VSL Academy:
- Ensure that best practices are passed on and applied, in order to achieve the very highest quality and safety standards on construction sites.
- Promote technical excellence, in order to improve the company’s performance.
- Invest in staff training, in order to enhance customer service.
- Pass on to teams the expertise of experienced colleagues, via the Field Manual.
- Open the VSL Academy to clients to present VSL’s know-how.

That’s the number of vocational training programmes offered by the VSL Academy, representing a total of 24 different courses relating to specialised construction systems, such as post-tensioning, heavy lifting or stay cables.
It is also the number of life-size models on which students train during practical workshops.
1,600
1,600 people, of 30 different nationalities, have participated in the training programmes since the Academy was created. Courses are open to both VSL employees and clients.
